Two Piece Counterweight Doors are typically used in larger industrial buildings with bigger doors with buildings having high ceilings to accommodate vertical lift rails. This allows overhead lighting to work closer to the dock for safety. Two piece counterweight doors also offer the option of a pilot door to alleviate the need to have a separate personnel door opening in the wall for foot traffic without raising the big door.
